Last year four people who had paid for a private room were moved into twin-share on arrival, and you spent the first evening of a seven day container resolving it. You asked for the allocation to be fixed in writing before anyone flies, with the price of each room visible to you while you decide.
Twenty four people landing at Ngurah Rai across nine flights is a day you cannot teach into. The transfer runs ninety minutes to two hours depending on where the traffic sits at Sukawati, and a group that trickles in until midnight cannot open together the next morning.
Nineteen of your twenty four last year had something: coeliac, two nut allergies, one managed histamine intolerance. You do not want to negotiate it meal by meal with a kitchen that is hearing it for the first time on day three.

Four hectares on the Sayan ridge, twelve minutes north west of Ubud centre and ninety minutes to two hours from Ngurah Rai depending on the Sukawati traffic. The site has held retreats since 2014 and nothing else runs here while you are on it.
Three pool villas sleeping two each, eight private garden rooms, and ten twin share rooms with twenty beds. That is where the mix on sheet three comes from, and it is why the configurator will not let you past 34.
Plant forward, largely grown on the terraces below the shala, with fish twice a week if you want it. The head cook has run the dietary list for every retreat since 2019. Coeliac and nut allergies are handled on separate boards and separate oil, not by omission at the pass.
At 24 the group fits the shala in a single circle without a second row, every guest eats at one of three tables rather than four, and the two overnight staff can cover the property without a third. Above 28 the arrival day needs a second transfer wave and the opening circle slips to the evening.
Fibre to the property with a starlink fallback, and a generator that carries the whole site. Ubud loses power for an hour or two most weeks in the wet season and it has never cost a session here.
Every fixed price rests on assumptions. Ours are written here rather than discovered in June.
